1-5. "Outside the Law"

The heart attack death of an old New York crimelord leads to a mob war. Six crimefighters (X, Batwing, Nightshade, Gunslinger, Avenger and Shadow) band together to form the Outsiders. They battle gunrunners, drugrunners, and assassins, including Killinger. Lots of fighting, lots of violence. In the war, four rival mob bosses are killed and Petro emerges supreme. The police begin to get interested in the Outsiders, assuming them to be another faction in the mob war.

6. "Werewolf Story"

Kodiak and Overcoat guest star as they help Shadow and Avenger hunts down a mysterious killer.

7-9. "The Brotherhood"

The Outsiders battle an assassination plot by the Secret Swords, including Dragon, Yama, Rising Sun, Tarantula and hordes of ninjas.

10-11. "A Private War"

The Outsiders stop Warhawk from building a private army, while managing to avoid the police.

12. "What's Right is Right"

The Outsiders stop the mutant terrorists called the Mutant Squad (Claw, Magnus, Psyclone, Holo and Plasma) from destroying the Statue of Liberty.

Annual #1: "Once Upon a Time"

Batwing's origin is told for the first time. Also includes a Gunslinger solo story.

13. "Scars of War"

The mercenary group SCAR, led by the Colonel. attacks a secure lab, but the Outsiders stop them.

14-15. "Mutants! Mutants Everywhere!"

The Mutant Squad shows up again, looking to take the Outsiders down. Claw and Avenger duke it out.

16. "Decisions"

Shadow decides to go solo and says goodbye to his Outsider teammates.

17. "Children of the Night"

A vampire cult is discovered in a Manhattan social club. X kills the the vampire lord in single combat and becomes the leader of the cult.

19. "Magic Man"

The wizard Taurus shows up in New York, but the Outsiders stop his schemes. Kodiak and Overcoat make another guest appearance.

20-23. "...Violets Are Blue"

Violetta Loveless, a businesswoman with a purple fetish, moves in on Petro's turf, with her own mob and enforcers Midnight, Snowman and Boomerang. Violet seduces Gunslinger. The Outsiders are forced to work with Petro to stop Violetta's power grab.

24. "The Terminus Factor"

The Outsiders foil the cyborg assassin Terminus from killing a US Senator.

Annual #2: : "Wine, Women and Song"

The Outsiders visit Kodiak's bar. Mayhem and battle ensues.

25. "The Underworld"

Far beneath the subways of Manhattan, the Outsiders encounter a tribe of savage subhumans.

26-27. "Cat's Claw"

Petro's new goon Panther goes after the Outsiders one at a time, critically wounding Nightshade and Avenger. Tyger makes a guest appearance and helps the team defeat Panther. Gunslinger guns down Panther, but the villain survives.

28-30. "The Brotherhood Forever"

More ninja adventure, as the team travels to Japan so that Avenger can battle Dragon. Avenger remains in Japan.

31. "The Garotte"

A 1940s-era villain, the Garotte, emerges from a long absence to wreak havoc. Gunslinger is forced to kill him.

32-35. "To a Factor of M"

The renamed Mutant Squad, Factor M (Claw, Magnus, Plasma, Halo, Psyclone, Horder, Amoeba, and Myste) attacks in force, attempting to destroy a genetics research facility. Batwing kills Magnus.

36. "Look Out World! It's Crimebuster!"

A second rate hero from a small town attempts to join the team, but the Outsiders gently send him on his way.

Annual #3: "Judgement Day!"

The Outsiders are captured and made sanctioned police operatives. Furious at what she sees as a betrayal, X disappears, and Gunslinger takes over team leadership.

37-38. "A Traitor in Our Midst"

The Outsiders are enlisted to uncover a traitor in Phase II command. Guest appearances by Rebel and Dominic Fate as they battle the menace of HAVOC.

39. "Deadeye"

Gunslinger's archrival Deadeye, from his own series, shows up to make trouble for the Outsiders.

40-41. "Ninjas with an Attitude"

The Outsiders finish off the Secret Swords once and for all. The Brotherhood is disbanded and Avenger kills Black Scorpion. Avenger retires to seclusion.

42. "Crimebuster's Back!"

Crimebuster shows up again and this time, helps the team stop Captain Savage from destroying an important computer center.

43. "Thorn"

Jill Thorn, Petro's daughter, on the rebound from Shadow, joins the group as the Outsiders deal with a revenge plot from Factor M.

44. "A Serpent in the Garden"

Serpent joins the Outsiders. Gunslinger becomes involved with Thorn.

45. "Crime Does Pay"

Petro reappears, and takes over the New York crime scene again.

46-50. "The End"

Petro destroys the Outsiders' organization, ruins their government association, and seeks final revenge. Guest appearances by Kodiak, Overcoat and Shadow. In a thunderous finale, with Petro's penthouse exploding, Thorn slips away. The Outsiders disband and go their separate ways, with Gunslinger distraught over Thorn's presumed death.

Outsiders Special #1: "Predator and Prey"

Gunslinger joins the Outsiders together again to stop the Strong Persuaders. However, they wind up joining with the Persuaders to stop the villain group called the Predators.
