The Black Eagle

Real Name: Dane Holmes

Background: Dane Holmes was a dashing young playboy whose rich family were reputed to be rogues and wastrels. But few knew that since Colonial times, the eldest son of the Holmes clan had led a double life: by night, he became the Black Eagle, costumed avenger of evil and injustice.

Often, in times of peace, there was no need for the Eagle, so the Holmes secret slumbered. But with the outbreak of Nazi aggression, Dane's older brother Nick felt the call of duty, donning the traditional garb of the hero that had served the cause of justice since Paul Revere's days. But in battle against the Saboteur, Nick was mortally wounded. He died in Dane's arms, but not before revealing the Holmes secret.

Sworn to duty, Dane put aside his roguish ways and began his training under the tutelage of teachers that had served his family for generations. Then he took up the weapons still stained with his brother's blood, to see justice done.
